Senior Games Industry Executive Joins Innovative Cloud Game- Streaming Service
Los Angeles, November 22nd, 2010. Gaikai Inc., the innovative cloud-based game streaming service, today announced the appointment of Nanea Reeves to the role of Chief Strategy Officer.
Previously Senior Vice President/COO Global Online at Electronic Arts and formerly SVP of Jamdat Mobile, Nanea brings her expertise in defining business strategies for online consumer destinations and knowledge of how to deliver and implement data driven solutions to the revolutionary, new Gaikai service.
“I’m really excited to have Nanea on board, her experience will help us determine our next moves as we grow our service,” said David Perry, CEO of Gaikai Inc.
“I am very impressed with what Gaikai is doing to transform the experience of how we access interactive entertainment and I am looking forward to being part of such an innovative team,” said Nanea Reeves.
Gaikai has just launched in Open Beta, allowing players instant access to the critically acclaimed Mass Effect 2™ (EA/Bioware).
This appointment follows the announcement, earlier this year, of a partnership deal with Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) which will see a number of EA’s top franchises including The Sims™, Mass Effect™ and Medal of Honor™ streamed over Gaikai.
Gaikai offers the ability to play any game instantly inside the web browser with just one click, no big game download, no game install and no patching. This frictionless server-based, cloud-gaming technology is designed to dramatically increase both reach, and audience participation, while bringing down acquisition costs dramatically. By playing games remotely from Gaikai servers around the world, players simply play wherever they are browsing, removing the need to pay for advertising clicks to move gamers around on the Internet. This freedom to play anywhere opens up exciting business models as you can play on any video game retailer site, any news site, publisher sites, or even inside Facebook.
